How to import from China to Nigeria — safely, with one trusted partner

Many Nigerian buyers lose money to fake suppliers, wrong goods or bad paperwork. Here is the simple path — and how Amanect makes it safer.

Written for: Nigerian importer or trader who wants to buy goods from China without being cheated.

1. Find a genuine supplier

Online listings are easy to fake. Check the company registration, ask for a video call from the factory floor, and never pay 100% upfront to a new supplier.

  • Business licence and export history
  • Real factory address and photos
  • Samples before a bulk order

2. Prepare your Nigerian paperwork

Before shipping, your bank opens Form M. Most regulated goods also need SONCAP certification. Missing papers mean delays and extra port charges in Lagos.

3. Choose how to ship

Full containers (FCL) suit large orders; shared containers (LCL) suit smaller ones. Main ports are Apapa, Tin Can Island, Lekki Deep Sea Port and Onne.

4. Inspect before you pay the balance

Have the goods checked at the factory before loading. Amanect Verify counts, samples and photographs your goods and supervises loading, so you pay the rest only when the order is right.

5. Buy through one counterparty

Amanect can handle the order for you: we find the supplier, negotiate, inspect and arrange the papers. You have one contract with Amanect.
